Graham Dene's returned to his spiritual home, presenting the Smooth breakfast show to London and the home-counties every weekday morning from 6am to 10am.
Graham began his broadcasting career in Hospital radio station at St Mary's, Paddington in London. From there, he moved to the rather remarkable United Biscuits Network. This was a radio network based at the UB factory in Osterley which broadcast to their factories across the UK. Graham was in some formidable company in the like of Nicky Horne, Roger Scott, Adrian Love and smooth radio's Peter Young, until he left, being replaced by Dale Winton.
After four years at UBN, Graham moved to Radio City in Liverpool, before becoming the voice of breakfast across London and the home-counties at Capital Radio from 1975. Graham spent 17 massive years at Capital Radio where he broadcast on both Capital FM and Capital Gold. But it was his 10 years at the helm of breakfast that made him the must hear DJ in the South East and secured him the mantle of Princess Diana’s favourite DJ.
In 1993, a new national station came along. Virgin 1215 beckoned and Graham joined initially to present weekend breakfast, before moving to the weekday afternoon show.
